A staff meeting can be called by your Administrator up to twelve times per year according to Article D.28 of the Collective Agreement. Staff meetings are not to last longer than one and one half hours (90 minutes). Teachers should have input into the agenda of staff meetings.

In addition, CTA staff reps or designates have the right to “convene meetings of the school teaching staff to conduct CTA business at such times so as not to disrupt normal school operations.” (Article A.23.2) These times may include at the beginning or end of a staff meeting. Should you wish to have the CTA portion at the beginning of a staff meeting, this should be done in consultation with your Administrator. If your Administrator is not open to this suggestion, you have the right to include a CTA portion at the end of the staff meeting. Some schools schedule a separate CTA meeting each month.
