At the Spring meeting of the BCTF Representative Assembly, the following motion was passed:

That the BCTF encourage locals/members to use unionized performance companies and/or living-wage rates when booking school performances or attending performances with school groups.

There are many performing companies that do not pay their performers appropriately, so we wanted to bring this to your attention. We recognize that many of these performances are not booked by individual teachers but hope that you will be more aware of this issue when you are discussing school bookings.
